Paris Court Confiscates Durov's Passports Amid Ongoing Investigation

According to TASS, a Paris court has confiscated all passports belonging to Telegram founder Pavel Durov as part of the ongoing investigation. Irina Sidorova, a member of the Paris and Nice Bar Association, confirmed that “all passports in his possession have been seized for the duration of the investigation,” effectively preventing Durov from leaving France by air, sea, or land.

Durov, who holds four citizenships — Russia, France, St. Kitts and Nevis, and the UAE—now faces significant travel restrictions. He acquired UAE citizenship in February 2021 after a meeting with Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai.

A source close to Telegram revealed that Durov primarily uses his UAE and French passports for travel and business, while his St. Kitts and Nevis passport was more relevant during the early years after he emigrated from Russia.
